Freeze sales orders
Hi Folks

I need ideas / suggestions on how to do a global cart freeze when a user (U) initiated modifications on a specific outstanding Sales Order (X).
The goal is too make sure that all inventory quantities are guaranteed for Sales Order (X) and cannot be consumed by any other Sales Order.

During the freeze
- No other other Sales Order can be created by any user
- No other other Sales Order can be edited by any user
- only Sales Order (X) can be edited by user (U)
- user (U) should have access to the entire stock during Sales Order (X) editing

The freeze ends after the Invoice for Sales Order (X) has been processed.

Thank you for your input!

RE: Freeze sales orders
I do not believe the capability exists to do that currently.

I may move this thread to the feature requests section of the forum.

On a side note, the freeze seems like a bad idea, on the surface...
Would not freezing the system prevent fulfilling other orders, potentially leading to loss of revenue? (unless the goal is a FIFO situation?)

Opinions may vary, of course.

why not set a setting that reserves the inventory and shows that part or product new quantity with the reserve so no one else can allocate your reserved product/part @turboPT

I agree. Reserving stock as "allocated" seems like the best idea to me.
